Developer's plans for 70-bed care home at St Mary's Garden Village

On 7th January 2025 at a meeting of Ross-on-Wye Town Council's planning committee, developers revealed plans for a proposed 70-bed care home on the south end of St Mary's Garden Village.

The developers are holding a Public Consultation event at the Larruperz Centre on 23rd January, 13:30 to 19:30

The proposed site is believed by residents to have been not land for development.

On-site promotional signage at St Mary's labelled a Community Plan (photographed below) shows the intended site is not marked for future development by Edenstone, but it the proposal is by another developer. The site is in a wildlife corridor and taking into consideration both otters and bats were raised as issues during the meeting. Residents were sold their properties understanding that this would remain a recreational area and it is popular with dog walkers and those out for a stroll.
