Electile dysfunction, political signs put up in gardens in Ross-on-Wye

Electile Dysfunction

Now, who as ever seen a political sign in a someone’s garden and then thought as a result “I’m going to vote for that lot”?

Of course nobody has.

Here we are though and the erection of election placards has begun in Ross-on-Wye.

As if Ross isn’t adorned with enough brightly coloured plastic in recent weeks, what with all the red barriers and yellow kerb ramps in Broad Street following the flood damage, some people are beginning to adorn their properties with bright plastic political tat.

“Life in plastic, it’s fantastic” - no Aqua, in this case it isn’t.

These gaudy signs make the town look a mess. An "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty"? Hmmm.

You could choke a 1000 dolphins with the plastic used but you certainly won’t change even a single voters mind. So why do it?

Unfortunately the Ross-on-Wye Rubbish Litter Festival isn’t happening this year. If it was, maybe some of this pointless plastic could have at least been put to some use. The Litter Festival was a great idea that could have been built upon in Ross-on-Wye, educating people about recycling as well as the harm to the planet from production and even the expensive recycling of plastics. Let’s hope the Council help the festival to return next year.

Perhaps it’s time for Ross-on-Wye Town Council to step in and try to stop these signs with a “Ross-on-Wye Against Plastic - Tidier not Tattier” campaign?

Could the Town Council appeal to the people of Ross to stop these sad erections?
